Mickey's Musings
I have stories to tell.
About Michelle
I've been a computer programmer, a web specialist and a technical support specialist. I began my adult career aspirations with a degree in music education, but found no teaching jobs in that field. I learned how to play most musical instruments, including violin (AAAHH! HELP ME!) in college.
However, my favorite two instruments to play have always been saxophone and clarinet. I started playing those instruments in grade-school band when I was only 7 years old. I became quite accomplished and was playing professionally at the age of 15. But the income was not steady enough for me to support myself as an adult, so I went back to school in pursuit of a computer science degree.
I started my career at my company 31 years ago in a low-paying job while working toward my degree. I strived for a computer programmer position for about nine years at that agency.
Success!
I finally got the programming job and I was so thankful for that. But I never felt like I was doing the kind of work I really wanted to do.
I never really nurtured the first love of my life. That has always been writing. I have written little things for my parents, grandparents, loved ones and myself, but I have never really harnessed or tackled my urge to write for public consumption. I read voraciously. It is my escape from everyday hassles, but I feel the need to write something. Now I'm striving to become an author; I'm writing bigger things to hopefully be published.
I'm hoping I can provide something that may be of interest to people. Please read my smidges (stories) and let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading.
